I decided I wanted to have a cute little outfit for my adventurous day with Phear this Valentine’s day.  I was able pick up an entire outfit at Forever 21 (which is now starting to sound like my favorite store..it’s not I swear) for under 50 bucks. Score!  I had some heels I’ve been needing to wear out and I put it all together with tights.  I was originally going to do just a snapshot of my outfit for this blog but I ended up collaborating with Chelsea of Eve Was Framed Photography!  I was extremely excited when Chelsea posted she needed a model for a Valentine’s day shoot because we’ve worked together before, she does amazing work.  Eve Was Framed is a unique photographer with her own original style. She uses soft pretty hues but still manages to have the strong vivid colors blending in perfectly. Tonight I will be showing you how to make this cuff bracelet I saw at Norstrom for $65.00. I decided to make it instead of buying it because it just too expensive for not much work. This tutorial will be so quick you’ll see.

Items you’ll need:

• One cuff bracelet (I recommend Forever 21 for cool looking and budget friendly)
• Feathers (Loose and/or backed with felt. Any craft store should have feathers)
• Hot glue gun (You most likely have this but if not check the craft store)
• Chain, buttons, coins or any flat found object materials. (Be creative)

That’s it. Lets put it together.

I glued the feathers to the inside the cuff (pretty unevenly )

Almost done. Already looking pretty neat.

(Left) She used a few blue features and an old earring (Right) I used just one feather and a pretty antique button.

All I did was glue the last few pieces on and let it dry. It was about 20 minutes or less of work.

The sunset in California is what I live for.

We had quite an adventure.

Shortly after these pictures where taken we all ran across a stretch on the beach to get back to the car. It was low tide and we thought we had timed it just right. However…. we certainly didn’t. Three of us nearly fell and one of us unfortunately did. >.<”  Though we all suffered the shame and embarrassment of soaking wet clothes (with no towels) our friend Shruti’s electronics suffered the worst..

We still had a great time!  Even though we were literally laughed off the beach by some little kids.

oh well.

Today  I’m  reviewing a very special Christmas gift. This Christmas my friends all decided, seeing how money is a little tight, that we would do a secret santa and a pot luck.  Everything turned out awesome! We used a neat website called drawnames.com and my friend Kelly drew me. I posted a few things to my wishlist (Miss. Alphabet dress was the most expensive thing) I got my gift it a little after Christmas because it was shipping but at the party Kel presented it to me in such an awesome fashion. He got me a Christmas card and inside was a Starbucks card and a picture of the dress. Inside the card said ” It’s shipping! Have a coffee on me.” I swear to you I got the stupidest grin on my face and I couldn’t make it go away. The fact is I was overjoyed knowing that soon I would have exactly what I wanted.

Here it is the dress that made me complete.

I love this dress because its bold and bright ! Its absolutely over the top and not just anyone can rock it. This dress was meant to be for me I just know it. (lol) Its perfect for a mad tea party, It can be dressed down , it can be dresed way up, and there are so many fun ways I can think of the wear it just casually.  I hope to make it recognized as the signature Rad Hatter dress.

Did you notice I snuck in a Happy Hoodie I had custom made by Happy Hoodie Friends? I call him Rage Panda. I’m also wearing HK tights from Forever 21, Milkshakes shoes, Shojono Tomo mask, Chubby Bunny bow and Jimmy from Been Better Comics and Phear’s hats.

The dress is extremely comfortable and the material feels nice on your skin. It zips on and drapes beautifully and its just the right length too! It has nice detail like the little yellow tassels. I can’t wait to wear it to an event!

The make-up I used was a mix between Sugarpill‘s Afterparty and the Alice in Wonderland Limited Edition Book of Shadows by Urban Decay. Its my favorite pallet to use because its full of high pigmented colors.

Here is alternate way I wore this dress. Instead of hats I used bows and …I wore my umm natural hair.. :s Don’t judge me.

My room was a mess! Trust me the blur was necessary…

It is still so early in the new year so start procrastinating right? I’m going to let this one slide because well, it isn’t CHINESE new year yet which makes me still in the clear!

Here are my Radsolutions:

1. Get Crafty

I have been telling everyone for much too long that I used to be a hat maker, I used to make my own clothes, I used to make lots of art, I used to blah blah! Its time for me to shut up and set up shop again. I have some new ideas this year and I’ve been quite inspired by a number of people including some of my new friends. (You know who you are) Something for everyone to look forward to is what I will be making this year. I plan to make of course hats, video game inspired T-shirts (a collaboration with Designer PHRHD), phone charms and cases to name a few.

2. Get on the Road

In 2012 I plan to take as many mini weekend road-trips as I can. I’ll start out with small trips like to San Diego and make my way around to San Francisco, Santa Barbara, Solvang, Las Vegas, Arizona I might make up to Seattle… hm maybe.

3. Get Healthy

I know this one is a bit unoriginal however, I would love to feel as good as I look once in a while. Totally kidding. So I am all signed up for Zumba classes with my mom and sister so this should get quite interesting.

4. Get Control

This is the deep one. This year I would like get control of my life. I am a unique individual and I would like to express myself. Not that I’m going to all at once quit my job and go liberate myself by streaking.. O_O.. But  I’ll find another job first. In all seriousness I do need a new job one where I can be me. Creative, expressive and professional.  (yes it is possible to be all three)

5. SAVE!

Saving money has become increasing harder and harder as the years go by. I must spend more wisely this year. Which means with all the traveling I must be frugal.  =(

That is all of them.. well I’ll add one last one.

I just wanted to do a quick blog about a movie I just watched. It’s called Summer Wars. It was such an incredible movie and it won quite a few awards. I was very hesitant to watch it at first but I was walking through FYE and something told me to just buy it. (I obey my gut feelings) Anyway its an animated romance/ sci fi about a 11th grade math genius who is pretending to be the fiance of a girl so that her great grandmother would be happy for her. Meanwhile a social network/ virtual world is being hacked and trying to reek havoc and destroy the world. Its up to the math nerd and his pseudo fiance’s family to stop it from happening with the power of ..duh duh duh.. MATH!!…and stuff.. so

Hello Everybody!  Sorry for the long delay between posts. I feel like I’ve been on Winter Break from my blog.

I hope everyone had wonderful Holidays! Mine were MOST excellent and very busy as I’ve said on my facebook page! D: .. But I am finally free and ready to share with you my ultra merry, exciting, crazy but beautiful Christmas recap.

My next blog will be my late New Years blog with my Rad-solutions. (See what I did there? ..) o_O..

Christmas is always the warm and fuzzy time of year to get together with your family and argue about silly things…oh I mean enjoy their presents.. I mean.. *ahem* presence.  This year my family decided its been much too long since we all have been to Disneyland together to make new exciting memories so with that we decided we should go Dec. 23rd. Phear also happens to work for Disney so there was many benefits to reap because of this!

Phear is from Michigan and this year we had hoped to go home and visit his family. We ended up not being able to because of Phear’s demanding work schedule but that didn’t stop mama Kat Lanphear from sending us a HUGE care package including a TON of presents, special ornaments for our tree, cookies, fudge, carrot cake mix and a box for Pickles to play inside of (I will post a video of this soon).  Christmas Eve is when The Lanphears traditionally open presents and since we couldn’t be there we used the technology of skype to open gifts together and share our love.  We opened are gifts and thanks to Kat, Phear and I had quite an amazing Christmas Eve. We were very spoiled and I’m am so grateful and thankful of all my gifts.  Some of my presents included Black Milk leggings, a cake pop maker, a toki doki dress and many more!  Phear got some awesome stuff too! Phear and I exchanged presents too! He got me a pink stitch Kigurumi, a HK momji with the sweetest note inside and the best gift I opened up on Christmas eve was a ring from my darling and I don’t mean on the phone.

Christmas day I changed pjs several times but I wore my kigurumi for family time. Everyone woke up then we open our presents together. This year I had TJ my nephew to help with that. ;D We all gathered around and open presents from santa..yes..santa.. jellies? Anyway we got really nice things and my mom even got a new sewing machine.. so maybe I can have mine back now ._. ..  Santa was so nice this year, I think I made out like a little bandit. I got my 3DS with nintendogs and lots of neat things. I changed into my other pjs then started making breakfast cinnamon rolls.  The family came over in the afternoon and we enjoyed our dinner and then we left to visit my dad, Karen and sisters. My sisters and I had a absolute blast ! My dad and Phear talked about Halo and Karen played with her new toy Ipad. I accidentally got her addicted to Pinterest.

Let me introduce you to my nephew and my doggy Sachi. ^

All and all it was a really great time. I was lucky enough to spend it with all three of my families this year.
